Janet Z. Wan, CFP®, Principal
Ms. Wan is the founder and the principal of Sierra Pacific Financial Advisors (SPFA). She has extensive experience in personal finance and asset management. She has been providing comprehensive financial planning and wealth management services to families, professionals, corporate executives and business owners since 1997.
Prior to establishing SPFA, Ms. Wan served as a family financial advisor at Freed & Myers Wealth Management, Inc., in Chevy Chase, Maryland, one of the top wealth management firms in the United States, as ranked by Bloomberg Wealth Manager magazine. She also worked at Cambridge Associates LLC, a worldwide investment-consulting firm, where she provided high-quality, independent research and analysis to institutional investors and private clients.
Ms. Wan has been actively involving in various national and local professional associations and community service organizations. She is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Southern Alameda County, the Financial Planning Association, and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). She also served as the Advisory Board of Chinese American Real Estate Association. Driven by SPFA's business philosophy to enable people to succeed, SPFA is a gold sponsor of the Chi-Am Circle Club, and was a corporate sponsor of the Chinese Information and Networking Association (CINA).
Ms. Wan has appeared as a guest speaker on KTSF TV26 Talk Tonight show to speak about the value of financial planning. She has also been quoted in the Investment News on various financial topics. Ms. Wan received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and International Business from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Natana Valiveti, Para-planner, Client Relations Manager
Ms. Valiveti is a financial planner and client relationship consultant at Sierra Pacific Financial Advisors. She assists the principal in developing comprehensive financial plans for the clients of SPFA. In addition, Ms. Valiveti is responsible for account establishment and transfer; monitors account daily activities and helps fulfill client’s inquiries. Ms. Valiveti a well-educated and dynamic professional. She brings rich knowledge from her many years of varied work experience and community involvements.
Prior to joining SPFA, Ms. Valiveti worked as a Telecom Network Consultant in Nortel Networks in Richardson, TX and as a Systems Analyst in Statistics Canada, Ottawa, Canada. Her computer systems and telecommunications experience has helped her to make a smooth transition to a career in Personal Financial Planning field where the main focus is families and their financial well-being.
Ms. Valiveti has been actively involved in both professional and community service organizations. She is a CFP® candidate and a member of Financial Planning Association of EastBay Chapter. She also teaches Indian classical music at her religious organization and is a Board Member of Sri Ramakrishna Sarada Bhajan Mandali, a registered non-profit organization helping promote music awareness among the new generation of children in North America.
Ms. Valiveti holds a Masters in Computer Science degree from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Madras, India. She is fluent in English and three Indian languages. She and her family live in the Bay area and enjoy spending quality time together.
Judith Tang, Attorney in Law
Ms. Tang's practice includes administration of post-mortem estates (probate and trust); research and analysis of tax, probate and trust law; and representation of executors, administrators, trustees and beneficiaries in matters involving estates and trusts. She has been helping clients to prepare and evaluate wills, living trusts, life insurance trusts, and durable powers of attorney to successfully transfer wealth with minimum estate and gift tax consequences.
Active in professional and community service organizations, Ms. Tang is a member of the Estate Planning Council of East Bay, the Alameda County Bar Association and the Asian American Bar Association. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Tang is certified by the State Bar of California as a specialist in Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law. As one of the few Asian American estate planning attorneys in California, she frequently speaks on Chinese radio, AM 1400, and on Chinese television, TVB's "Financial Magazine," to educate the Chinese community on various estate planning and tax topics. Ms. Tang received her J.D. degree from the Hastings College of the Law in University of California, San Francisco. She is fluent in English and Cantonese.
Thomas Tang, CPA
Mr. Tang graduated from the University of Washington. He obtained his first CPA license in the State of Washington. He is currently a licensed CPA in the State of California. He is also a Certified Management Accountant.
Mr. Tang started his career working as an auditor for a CPA firm in Vancouver, Washington. After he moved to California, he joined the tax department of a San Francisco CPA firm.
Prior to establishing his own practice, he was a manager of a six-office regional accounting firm in the Bay Area. Mr. Tang is a member of the AICPA, California Society of CPAs, Hong Kong Institute of CPAs, Institute of Management Accountants and Turnaround Management Association.
