Retirement Plans Specialist (401(k) Plan Advisor) - Pleasanton, CA

Job Description: The successful candidate will manage and execute a highly sophisticated, multi-decision-maker sales process in the defined contribution market primarily focused on 401(k) plans. The advisor provides 401(k) investment, participant education and fiduciary support to corporate clients in 401(k) arena.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize database to develop prospects by making proactive phone calls and other marketing efforts
  • Cultivate and strengthen business relationships with business owners, human resource managers and C-level executives
  • Partner with advisors to present investment and retirement plan solutions and capabilities
  • Prepare/Review paperwork for 401(k) plan conversion process
  • Present financial workshops to plan participants and assist them in retirement saving strategies
  • Conduct 401k plan review meetings with plan sponsors/trustees. Listen to and resolve clients’ complaints regarding plan design, investment options and services
  • Confer with company officials to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets and promote business

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong Sales, Presentation and Negotiation skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently, with minimal supervision and have the ability to take initiative and create solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills, organized, efficient, reliable, and eager to learn
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in financial sales/services industry, familiar with different retirement plan solutions is a plus
  • College degree with Retirement Certifications/licenses, such as CRPS, CPFA, CFP, CIMA, is preferred
  • Willingness to travel (mostly in Bay Area)

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus revenue sharing payout

Financial Advisor - Pleasanton, CA

Financial Advisor - Pleasanton, CA (Immediate Opening)

Job Description: The successful candidate will support the principal of a local financial advisory firm servicing client relationships and working on various analytical & planning projects while documenting and communicating recommendations with prospects and clients. They will be an integral part of financial planning team and investment committee. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide objective, unbiased financial advice to a diverse clientele by analyzing client needs and associated investment opportunities.
  • Client relationship development and management, including ongoing and regular client contact and communications.
  • Create comprehensive financial plans and investment strategies (e.g. retirement planning, stock options analysis, education funding, tax and estate planning, insurance needs analysis). 
  • Attend client planning meetings and document notes & records in CRM. 
  • Client planning updates, portfolio changes and reviews, and new opportunity identification.
  • Research investment models and opportunities, maintain financial planning platforms.
  • Inform team members of all client matters.
  • Assist in business development activities, such as designing marketing strategy, making presentation, contacting prospects
  • Cross-sells firm's services and deepens existing client relationships by engaging various social events

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning field with demonstrated ability to develop plans and manage client relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree and CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with various financial planning platforms (e.g., eMoney & Orion), CRM (Redtail), and portfolio management software
  • An enthusiastic, pro-active and client service-oriented attitude
  • A self-starter who can work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to focus on details
  • Organized, flexible, efficient, reliable, positive & eager to learn
