Retirement Plans Specialist (401(k) Plan Advisor) - Pleasanton, CA

Job Description: The successful candidate will manage and execute a highly sophisticated, multi-decision-maker sales process in the defined contribution market primarily focused on 401(k) plans. The advisor provides 401(k) investment, participant education and fiduciary support to corporate clients in 401(k) arena.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize database to develop prospects by making proactive phone calls and other marketing efforts
  • Cultivate and strengthen business relationships with business owners, human resource managers and C-level executives
  • Partner with advisors to present investment and retirement plan solutions and capabilities
  • Prepare/Review paperwork for 401(k) plan conversion process
  • Present financial workshops to plan participants and assist them in retirement saving strategies
  • Conduct 401k plan review meetings with plan sponsors/trustees. Listen to and resolve clients’ complaints regarding plan design, investment options and services
  • Confer with company officials to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets and promote business

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong Sales, Presentation and Negotiation skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently, with minimal supervision and have the ability to take initiative and create solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills, organized, efficient, reliable, and eager to learn
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in financial sales/services industry, familiar with different retirement plan solutions is a plus
  • College degree with Retirement Certifications/licenses, such as CRPS, CPFA, CFP, CIMA, is preferred
  • Willingness to travel (mostly in Bay Area)

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus revenue sharing payout

Job Description

Financial Advisor - Pleasanton, CA (Immediate Opening)

Job Description: The successful candidate will support the principal of a local financial advisory firm servicing client relationships and working on various operational & planning projects while performing various analysis and modeling (e.g., retirement planning, stock options, education funding), document and communicate recommendations with prospects and clients. You will be an integral part of the financial planning team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide objective, unbiased financial advice to a diverse clientele by analyzing client needs and associated investment opportunities.
  • Client relationship development and management, including ongoing and regular client contact and communications.
  • Review all required paperwork prior to meetings.
  • Client planning updates, portfolio changes and reviews, returns and new opportunity identification.
  • Coordination of complete financial planning and wealth management (analysis, estate planning, tax strategies for assets under management and portfolio management).
  • Maintains accurate notes and records regarding client matters in CRM.
  • Follows firm processes and systems around review meetings and client relationship management
  • Informs team members of all client matters.
  • Cross-sells firm's services and deepens existing client relationships.
  • Attend client and prospect events.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in investment management and/or financial advisory services with demonstrated ability to develop and manage plans and manage client relationships.
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner Professional Education Program) designation preferred.
  • Experience in financial services and planning software (e.g., MoneyGuidePro) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, finance, or economics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with various financial planning, CRM, portfolio management and document management software.
